Here is one of my favorite quotes from the world of Science Fiction:

“And the first lesson of all was the basic trust that he could learn. It is shocking to find how many people do not believe they can learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult.” Frank Herbert, Dune.

It is such a wonderfully simple premise, yet one not recognized by nearly enough people.

If a person believes he can’t learn, he won’t. If he believes it will be difficult, it will.

If a person has the confidence in himself to believe not only that he can learn, but that he will, there will be few limits on how far he can go.

The best way to learn is to ask questions. The more questions the better.

Questions are useless without dialogue. This is why comments and discussions are so important. I encourage everyone to use these as frequently as practical. Not only can you provide answers for others, but those others may inspire you to ask questions to further your own learning.
